High-Temperature Alloys

Nickel- and iron–nickel-based superalloys for turbine, furnace and high-temperature process service.

Overview

The GH series and the nickel-based 600-family alloys are specified where the part has to keep its strength above 600 °C, or survive oxidation, carburisation and thermal cycling. We machine them into flanges, fittings, bar, rings and shaped forgings from forged or rolled stock.

Because these grades work-harden quickly and are sensitive to heat treatment, the forging route and the annealing cycle are fixed per heat rather than per drawing.

Grades are supplied to the UNS number stated on the certificate. Where a customer specifies a trade name only, we confirm the UNS equivalent in writing before manufacture.
